Holland High School CRI levels increased 3 fold allowing for better viewing options for the athletes and spectators within the facility. Light levels increased by 100%.
Challenge:
To create a cleaner, brighter, and livelier atmosphere for the gymnasium and athletics area for Holland High School's Dutch Dome.
Solution:
The replacement of existing 400w High Pressure Sodium and T12 fluorescent fixtures with a derivative of Light's Semaphore 86 Series. Light Corporation and Parkway Electric designed these fixtures specifically for Holland Public Schools. The 6 lamp T8 fixture features an aluminum exoskeleton form-factor, designed for its clean aesthetics and lightweight manageability. The exoskeleton surrounds a modular specular reflector system specifically designed and engineered for even and focused light dispersion. Rounding out the fixture is Light's Slip-Fit hanging system which allows for ease of installation in one-third of the time necessary to hang standard fluorescent or high-intensity discharge fixtures. The Semaphore 86 has a system wattage of 224w versus 458w for the standard 400w High Pressure Sodium fixture.
Customer Feedback:
"The light is better than I thought it would be. The Dome is cleaner and brighter. The first groups to comment to me on this change were the photographers from the newspapers. They were thrilled that the yellow haze was finally gone and they could take good, color pictures."
