Saddle Creek Corporation replaced old halide fixtures with Semaphore T8 6 lamp fixtures and a Kanepi control system. There has proven to be a significant ROI from the construction application savings with Light Corp’s slip-fit hanging system that allows for 1/3 of the installation time. Saddle Creek benefits from the Semaphore Series offering half the wattage and twice the light output, while using the Kanepi system to remotely turn off lights that aren’t in use and often dim some lights to 50% for half the consumption.

Challenge:

One of the country’s top providers of integrated logistics solutions, Saddle Creek delivers warehousing, transportation and contract packaging services at facilities strategically located across the country. Helping manufacturers, distributors and retailers cut costs and gain a competitive edge. To accommodate its growing base of customers, Saddle Creek constructed a new 325,000 square foot expansion on its campus located in Harrisburg, North Carolina. High priorities of the Saddle Creek project were reducing energy usage/costs and acquire the flexibility to use their fixtures in different parts of the building at different days of the week and different times of the day.

Solution:

By working closely with both Saddle Creek operations and information system managers to understand the needs and applications for their new building, Light Corp replaced old high watt fixtures with Semaphore T8 Series 6 Lamp fixtures and a Kanepi Wireless Control System that enabled Saddle Creek to decide where and when they want to use their lighting in their new building.  The ability to have control of each Semaphore Series fixture running on half as many watts as the majority of old HID and Halide fixtures used in the past few decades, the sytem was proven to be very flexible and cost-effective.
