Accounting Manager

Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager reports to the President. He/she is responsible for the preparation and reporting of our financial information in a timely, fair and accurate manner.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in the Finance arena
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business is required
  • Proven ability to think strategically and leverage data to drive the corporate decision-making process
  • Strong record of working with collaborative teams that produce positive results


Essential Job Functions and Skills include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead and oversee annual corporate budgeting process
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining annual Finance department budget
  • Report out monthly financial metrics to the management team, board of directors and shareholders
  • Working knowledge of our primary customers and our products
  • Improve cash position and financing requirements to assist with investment decisions
  • Enhance relationships with lenders
  • Lead year end audit, review and act upon the findings of auditors
  • Lead Finance departmental staff with an emphasis on team building, empowerment and associate development to establish long term bench strength (Conduct timely and complete performance evaluations of direct associates, Assess subordinate’s skill sets, current and future development needs and take steps to mentor and develop them appropriately, Ensure compensation is aligned with associate performance and company guidelines)
  • Accounting job data collection, maintenance, and reporting
  • Year-end, month end processing, allocations, reconciling and Financial Statement reporting
  • Perform postings & prepare monthly reconciliations of the General Ledger
  • KPI Management for the Finance department – reporting and problem solving
  • Weekly check runs to ensure timely payments to our vendors, and maximizing payment discounts where possible
  • Support sales team with product life cycle reporting and information
  • Trend major customer financial patterns to empower the sales and/or Leadership Team
  • Prepare, maintain & analyze AR & AP modules
  • Review & update AR & AP accounting procedures
  • Review & update the Standard Costing accounting procedures
  • Administer corporate credit card program
  • Manage the various tax obligations, exemptions and credits (sales and use, personal property, R&D credits, etc.)
  • Assist sales, and product development with business plans and pro-forma projections
  • Promote and participate in Company sponsored events
  • Be a role model for the company culture
  • Implement a Plex based corporate costing system which accurately reflects costs and can be used for both pricing and costing decisions


Additional Information: 

  • Individuals must have a strong professional etiquette and presentation
  • Regional and Domestic United States travel may be required
  • Some international travel may be required
