Challenge

To reduce Roush Industries lighting energy consumption while increasing current light levels and CRI levels throughout Building 28.
Solution

The replacement of existing 400w High Pressure Sodium fixtures with Light's Semaphore 54 Series. The 4 Lamp T5 fixture features an aluminum exoskeleton form-factor, designed for its clean aesthetics and lightweight manageability. The exoskeleton surrounds a modular specular reflector system specifically designed and engineered for even and focused light dispersion. Rounding out the fixture is Light's Slip-Fit hanging system which allows for ease of installation in one-third of the time necessary to hang standard fluorescent or high-intensity discharge fixtures. The Semaphore 54 has a system wattage of 246w versus 458w for the standard 400w High Pressure Sodium.
Results

Roush replaced 234 fixtures with the Semaphore 54. Each new fixture reduced Roush's lighting energy cost by $105.35 per fixture per year for a total cost savings of $24,652 per year. Light levels increased by an average of 200%.
Customer feedback

"We wanted to update our facility, while at the same time increasing our color matching abilities for our inspection line and quality control. Light's Semaphore 54 was a great solution for what we were looking to do. We are very pleased."
